1. Definitions
Whenever the Privacy Policy mentions:
- 1.1. Controller – means the entity which, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data;
- 1.2. IIMCB - this should be understood as the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw, a state organizational unit based in Warsaw, ul. Ks. Trojdena 4, 02-109 Warsaw, NIP 5262278704, REGON 013082798;
- 1.3. User – this should be understood as a natural person who uses the Website;
- 1.4. GDPR – this shall refer to the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Regulation on data protection) (Journal of Laws EU L. of 2016, No. 119, page 1, as amended);
- 1.5. Website – the website https://degronopedia.com.
2. General provisions
- 2.1. IIMCB respects the right to privacy of the User and declares that it makes every effort not to collect any data except data that is necessary for the proper functioning of the Website.
- 2.2. Only data that is necessary for the proper functioning of the Website is collected. User’s personal data is not necessary for the proper functioning of the Website.
- 2.3. IIMCB may process the User's personal data if the User voluntarily provides personal data to IIMCB, e.g., during contact to obtain information regarding the Website. Using the Website does not require providing personal data.
- 2.4. The Website does not process sensitive data.
3. Data controller
- 3.1. The Controller of the Website Users' personal data is IIMCB. Providing the User's personal data is voluntary. Data protection is carried out in accordance with the requirements of generally applicable law, and is stored on secured servers. The legal basis for data collection is art. 6 section 1 letter a) and b) of the GDPR.
- 3.2. IIMCB does not engage other entities to process data. If it occurs in the future, IIMCB will inform about other processors in the updated version of the Privacy Policy.
- 3.3. All personal data provided by the User are treated as confidential and are not visible to unauthorized persons, including other Users. Only those involved in the proper functioning of the Website have access to this data. The Controller informs that it has implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect personal data provided by the User, in particular including safeguards against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized publication, unauthorized access and other unlawful and unauthorized forms of processing, in accordance with applicable law.
- 3.4. IIMCB stores copies of the User's personal data in a form allowing identification only for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes indicated in this Policy, unless
the provisions of generally applicable law require a longer period of storage of personal data. IIMCB may store the User's personal data for the entire period necessary to establish, exercise or defend claims.
- 3.5. Personal data may be deleted as a result of withdrawal of consent to the processing of personal data.
- 3.6. IIMCB does not plan to transfer data outside the European Union. If IIMCB decides to transfer data to a third country or to an international organization, the information will be specified accordingly in updated version of the Privacy Policy.

4. Rights of the data subject
- 4.1. If the User voluntarily provides IIMCB with his/her personal data, in connection with the processing of his/her personal data, he/she will have the rights arising from the provisions of the GDPR to:
- 4.1.1. confirmation whether a given User's personal data is being processed and the right to access information about them,
- 4.1.2. obtain a copy of personal data being processed,
- 4.1.3. rectify User’s personal data if it is incorrect and the right to request that incomplete data be completed,
- 4.1.4. erasure of personal data,
- 4.1.5. restriction of the scope of personal data processing,
- 4.1.6. transmit personal data to another controller,
- 4.1.7. withdraw consent at any time. However, this will not affect the legality of the processing of personal data that was processed on the basis of consent before its withdrawal.
- 4.1.8. obtain information about the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority.
5. Cookies
- 5.1. When the User uses the Website, some data about her/him is automatically collected through technical cookies. Additionally, the User's IP address is also automatically collected.
- 5.2. While using the Website the User cannot opt out of cookies.
- 5.3. Technical cookies are files that are essential for the proper functioning of the Website and IIMCB’s server. They enable the User to navigate the Website and use its features, such as accessing secure areas on the Website.
- 5.4. The only information about the User that is collected and under particular conditions may be classified as the personal data is the IP address. However, without being combined with other data, the Controller will not be able to identify the User by the IP address from which the User is connected.
- 5.5. Technical cookies and IP address are stored by the Controller for 2 weeks at the secured server, so that no one but the User at issue can access them. After 2 weeks, the technical cookies and IP address of the User are erased.
6. IIMCB reserves the right to change the content of this Privacy Policy for the Website
IIMCB will inform Users about the change made by making the consolidated text of the document available on the Website.
